WHY WOULD I BENEFIT FROM DOING THE STERLING MEN'S WEEKEND AND JOINING A MEN'S TEAM?

Many Men, Many Stories
If you ask all the man what they've gained from doing the Sterling Men's Weekend and being a part of the Sons of Maine, you'll get a variety of answers. That's because each man is in a different place, has different needs and different commitments. That being said, some things men have received as a direct result of completing the men's weekend are:

  • Peace and resolution of anger or grief around parents
  • Direction and purpose in life
  • Knowledge of how to be an excellent father
  • Knowledge of how to be an excellent husband
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to trust other men
  • Ability to prepare for long term committed relationship

How do I join?
To become a member of Sons of Maine, a man must complete the Sterling Men's Weekend as well as a multi week (usually 8) program called the "point program". A man who has already done the Sterling Men's Weekend will need to "sponsor" you. The purpose of the sponsor is to guide you through the process. From there you can join a team of 6-10 men depending on your location. We meet once per week for 3 hours in a safe place where you can just be a man.

Be the man you always wanted to be
There are some compelling reasons for a man to "jump" and do the weekend and join our group. How is your family life? Are you being the man, husband, father or son you always wanted to be? Do you know what your job as a father is to your daughter or your son? They are both radically different and the one sentence answers to both will astound you, and then bring you to clarity. Do you have a "measuring stick" by which to judge whether or not you're doing your best in your relationship(s)? How do you feel about your upbringing? Do you blame your parents for the man you are and the life you've "ended up with"?

Purpose in Life
Are you living a life of commitment or addiction? Are you living your purpose in life? Do you get out of bed in the morning feeling like you can take on the world or are you in that place where you can't wait for the day to be over so you can sit in front of the t.v. or stuff your feelings about your life with alcohol, drugs, or other distractions.

Freedom as only a man can
Whatever it is you're looking for you may find it here. the men in our circle come week after week, year after year because the weekend has changed their lives so dramatically that they couldn't imagine what their lives would be like without it. They are passionate and grateful enough to pass it along to other men. Men are a unique species, and in this day and age the differences between men and women have been blurred and men simply aren't getting what they need in society.

Come test drive our circle
If your interest has been piqued, please contact us. We'd be thrilled and honored to speak with you. also, you are welcome to attend one of our meetings with or without one of the men. Some of the meeting places are difficult to find, so please use our contact form so we can give you directions or just answer any of your questions.
